About Us
Cap City was envisioned in 2011 as a group for percussionists from the Central Ohio area to grow as musicians and performers. The ensemble began competing in both Winter Guard International and the Ohio Indoor Performance Association during the 2012 season in percussion independent A class. Cap City was quickly promoted to Open class and finished the 2012 season in 9th place at WGI World Championships. The successful first season was followed up by a WGI Open class gold medal in 2013 and a promotion to World class in 2014. Cap City was a Percussion Independent World class finalist at the WGI World Championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and was on track for a repeat appearance before the season was shut down prematurely due to COVID-19.
Cap City is looking ahead toward another successful season in 2022. All of our members and staff are excited to continue pushing ourselves to create and perform at the highest level, and hope that you enjoy the product of their efforts!
