Brandon Smith
Program Advisor / Choreographer / Movement Coordinator
Originally from Lexington, KY, Brandon Smith has been a performer, designer, instructor, and adjudicator in the marching arts for over 20 years. Brandon was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps color guard from 2003-2006. Afterwards, he performed with the Pride of Cincinnati, Juxtaposition Winter Guard, and the inaugural cast of the Pride of Cincinnati Dance Ensemble.
After graduating from Miami University, he served as a musical theater dance instructor and performing artist for Kentucky Conservatory Theatre. While pursuing his M.A. in Arts Administration from the University of Akron, Brandon was the Director of Dance Education at the Olmsted Performing Arts Center, where he also taught classes in jazz, contemporary, and ballet. Additionally, he was company member and guest artist for North Pointe Ballet Company.
Brandon has been a designer and choreographer for Juxtaposition Winter Guard, Colts, The Cadets, Connexus Percussion, and Spirit of Atlanta.
He just finished his third season as the Color Guard Designer for Music City Drum and Bugle Corps.
This will be Brandon’s 7th season as a designer, choreographer, and movement coordinator for Cap City Percussion. Brandon also serves as a movement and equipment judge for various circuits including Tri-State Marching Arts, Mid-East Performance Association (MEPA) and the Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA). He is also entering his fourth year as the Color Guard Education Director for the Ohio Indoor Performance Association (OIPA). Brandon lives in Columbus, Ohio where he is an Undergraduate Admissions Advisor for Franklin University and designer/choreographer for Central Crossing HS.
