Matthew Hixenbaugh is from Dayton, Ohio and is currently a student at Wright State University, where he studies mathematics and physics. He is planning on attending graduate school for mathematics.

Matt has a passion for the marching arts and music, and continues to pursue that passion by marching and teaching. He was a founding member of Rhythm X Winds and has been a member of the ensemble for the 2015-2020 indoor seasons. Additionally, he marched trumpet with the Blue Knights in 2018 for his age-out.

Matt has taught high school bands in the Dayton area since 2015, including Sycamore HS (2015), Carroll HS (2015-2016), Kettering Fairmont HS (2016-2018), and Centerville HS (2019-present). He was also on the brass staff with the Crossmen (2019) and joined the visual team at Cap City during the 2021 season. He is extremely excited to return to Cap City and be a part of the team and organization!
