Tyler Stump

Visual Ensemble Technician

Tyler’s been involved in the performing arts for over a decade, beginning with his introduction being playing the alto saxophone with Ida High School (2013-2017) and Michigan State University’s Spartan Marching Band (2017-2022). After being introduced to color guard, he then went on to perform with State of Art Winterguard (2019-2022), Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2021), Phoenix Independent Winter Guard (2023), and Juxtaposition Winter Guard (2025).

As an educator in the performing arts, Tyler is entering his 1st year as a movement technician for Cap City Percussion and has been a color guard instructor and technician for Central Crossing HS (2023-Present), Westland HS (2023), and Music City Drum and Bugle Corps (2024, 2025).

Beyond the marching arts, Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree (2022) and master’s degree (2023) in Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University. He currently works as a Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant for the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University, while ascertaining his Ph.D. in Engineering Education.
